Sales Tax:  Unless we have either your tax number or a letter stating that the stock is to be ultimately used by a tax exempt organization (with their E number) we are required to charge the Illinois Retailers Occupational Tax.

New Customers:  Please allow four weeks to process a new credit application.  Our company policy is that all out-of-state orders are to be paid with a cashier's check upon pick-up or are to be pre-paid. VISA/Mastercard, or wire transfer before we load material. First order is always C.O.D. or prepay.

Quotes:  We welcome your bid request by phone or fax and will normally fax back a quote the same day.

Claims:  All claims must be directed to us in writing within 48 hours of receiving the plant material.  Due to conditions which we have no control, we will not guarantee productiveness or life of wholesale nursery stock we sell.

We make no guarantee regarding freight cost approximations or specific delivery dates.  Any damage or shortage must be clearly stated on the bill of lading ticket.  Fax us a copy ASAP.  Claims must be filed within two days of delivery.  Pictures of any problems would be helpful for us to avoid any problems in the future.  Once the material is loaded on the carrier, we will no longer be held responsible.  The customer is responsible for insuring the load or is responsible for seeing that the carrier has cargo insurance, and for filing a claim with the carrier if necessary.

We accept all orders subject to crop conditions.  If injury befalls our stock due to natural or man-made causes beyond our control, we reserve the right to cancel any order in part or in whole.

All prices are F.O.B. Poplar Farms Nursery and are subject to change without notice.  Prices in this catalog or quoted prices are for stock loaded on your truck or carrier at our nursery.  It is understood that all stock travels at the customer's risk.  We ask a day's notice before pick-up. Remember, when picking up a load, to bring tarpaulins or suitable coverings to protect the plants during travel.  We have tarps available for sale at our office.  Customer is responsible for blocking, tying (strapping) and flagging loads.  These items are not supplied.

Poplar Farms, Inc. will not be liable for any more than the purchase price of the plant material for any reason, under any circumstance, at any time.  It is agreed by both parties that any action pertaining to sales shall be venued in DeKalb County, Illinois. 

Please pick up plant material promptly when ready.  A holding charge will be added to orders not picked up in a timely fashion, as to be determined by Poplar Farms, Inc.  Orders may be invoiced at the time they are ready or will be placed back in our stock and sold.  The risk becomes that of the customer to leave plant material here after it is ready for pick-up.  Prices are subject to change without notice.

Tagging:  Call for an appointment.  Tagging stock in the field is permitted and recommended for first time customers.  A 20% additional charge may be added on a small orders or time consuming tagging.  Plants will be invoiced after tagging.

Trucking:  Poplar Farms Office: 11475 State Route 23, Waterman, IL (815) 264-8877. Poplar Farms will not be held responsible for any freight charges. Bill of Lading provided by shipper or carrier. The shipper assumes all responsibility for the plant material once it has been loaded on the carrier. All stock travels at the shippers risk. It has been counted and loaded in good condition. "Received By" is signed by carrier.
