What Kind of Ball Do We Dig?
We dig most of our trees and evergreens in a 15 degree side-angle ball with a flat bottom. This straighter side-flat bottom ball stands up better in the wind. PLUS: There are more roots that come with the tree for better survivability.

* How to use the load value % to compute a full truck" |
Multiply load value times the number of each size product you will be shipping. when you reach 100 you have a full truck. You can mix a load of trees, shrubs and evergreens. |
EXAMPLE:
20 - 2" trees (20 X .91 = 18.2);
10 - 8' Spruce (10 X 2.20 = 22);
40 - 36" Yews (40 X .50 = 20);
10 - 8' Crab (10 X 2.2 = 22);
60 - 3' Shrubs (60 X 2.9 = 17.4)
18.2 + 22 + 20 + 22 + 17.4 = 99.6
Right at a full load. Sometimes you may have more room but will have reached the weight limit. Call us if you are unsure of how many we will be able to put on your shipment. |
Calculating Freight Per Piece: |
Miles X $ per loaded mile = Load Cost
Load Cost X Load Value* % = Freight Per Piece
EXAMPLE:
One 2 1/2" tree shipped to Cleveland, Ohio
390 miles X 1.60 per mile = $624.00
$624.00 X 1.43% = $8.92 freight per tree |
